Evo jedan prijedlog - zanimljiva dječja sf novela (pogodna i za odrasle) o kradljivcima vremena - "Momo" još poznata kao "The Grey Gentlemen" ili "The Men in Grey" by Michael Ende.
Radi se o konceptu vremena, prolaznosti, konzumerizmu i još mnogočemu..
The main theme of Momo can be seen as a criticism of consumerism and stress. It describes the personal and social losses produced by unnecessary consumption, and the danger to be driven by a hidden interest group with enough power to induce people into this life style. Michael Ende has also stated to have had the concept of aging money in mind when writing Momo.In Momo it is used to offer contrast with the adult society. As children have "all the time in the world", they are a difficult target for the Men in Grey: children can't be convinced that their games are time-wasting. The author uses a mockery of Barbie dolls and other expensive toys as symbols to show how anyone can be persuaded, even indirectly, into consumerism.

Harold W.Percival - "Thinking and Destiny"

slika

Odlično štivo koje me oduševilo. Jedno od boljih koncentracija univerzalonog znanja prezentiran na prilično jednostavan način. Iako ima preko 1000 stranica i nema hrv.prijevoda, nije teško za čitanje i preporučam je svima.

Evo par quotova:

"Accidents and chance are words used by persons who do not think clearly when they attempt to account for certain happenings. Anyone who thinks must be convinced that in a world as orderly as this there is no room for the words accident and chance."

"You will not be, you cannot be, satisfied with anything less than Self-knowledge. You, as feeling-and-desire, are the responsible doer of your Triune Self; from what you have made for yourself as your destiny you must learn two great lessons which all experiences of life are to teach. These lessons are:
What to do,
and,
What not to do."

"This is the law: Every thing existing on the physical plane is an exteriorization of thought, which must be balanced through the one who issued the thought, and in accordance with that one’s responsibility, at the conjunction of time, condition, and place."

"I do not presume to preach to anyone; I do not consider myself a preacher or a teacher. Were it not that I am responsible for the book, I would prefer that my personality be not named as its author. The greatness of the subjects about which I offer information, relieves and frees me from self-conceit and forbids the plea of modesty."
